| Kieren Fallon just came out on top in a three-way photograph to be the top jockey over the five days of the Glorious Goodwood meeting. He, Martin Dwyer and John Egan all had three winners, but Fallon came out on top after a countback for placed rides. |

| Formal
horseracing began at Goodwood in 1802, with the first running of a principal
race, the Goodwood Cup, a decade later. Throughout the nineteenth century, several of the principal races, which today continue to be key fixtures of the Goodwood season, were established. |
