Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies and ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, Crievehill, who had last been seen when finishing fourth in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival, attacked all 16 fences and after being left further clear fourth last bounded to a nine-length win from Kayf Blanco.
He had been in flying form at home and overcame the shorter than ideal distance and going, with a return to longer distances on softer going likely to suit him even better. There are plenty of options ahead for him this season, not least with his trainer eyeing a possible tilt at the Grand National in April!
