He has built up the facilities there, which now compare favourably with any yard in the North of England. He can provide a complete service for single owners, partnerships, syndicates, companies and racing clubs under both codes.

The stables are situated in the delightful village of Aston Upthorpe on the edge of some of the finest chalk downland in England. We have some of the finest privately owned facilities in the country, with extensive turf and all-weather gallops extending to over one and a half miles. We also have two all-weather tracks, a nine furlong straight and a five furlong with an uphill gradient.

Philip trains at Sandhill in Somerset, the yard is set in 500 acres of top quality farmland with 80 stables converted from farm buildings. There is a 11/2 mile grass gallop, 6 furlong 'all weather' gallop, various canters, and a sandy beach all within easy riding distance from the yard. Other facilities include an equine swimming pool and 2 horse walkers.

James and his wife Jacko and their four-year-old son Tom try to make having a horse at Pegasus fun. Brian took out a licence in the Spring of 1993 after spending six very successful years as assistant to training legend Richard Hannon and has managed to improve his team in both quality and quantity year on year. Now firmly established among the upper reaches of the trainers' winners and prize money lists, he has a team of over hundred horses based at Newlands, situated at the foot of the famous Mandown gallop in Upper Lambourn.
