Tattersalls enjoyed yet another outstanding Royal Ascot with no less than 12 winning graduates at the five day meeting - 8 more than any other sale company.

The 2007 roll of honour was headed by runaway Group 1 Coronation Stakes winner INDIAN INK whose spectacular 6 lengths demolition of a star studded field was arguably the performance of the week. Trained by Richard Hannon, the three year old filly was winning her second Group 1 race following last year's Group 1 Cheveley Park and rarely can there have been a better advertisement for Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where the daughter of INDIAN RIDGE was purchased for 25,000 guineas. Bred by Killeen Castle Stud, INDIAN INK was purchased by agent Peter Doyle and her dam MAID OF KILLEEN, in foal to AZAMOUR, was purchased at last year's Tattersalls December Sale for 650,000 guineas by Hugo Lascelles on behalf of Lady Bamford.

Another outstanding performance from a three year old came from the Peter Chapple - Hyam trained colt TARIQ who continued the extraordinary success story of Derby winning owners Saleh al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar when producing a devastating burst of speed to win a strong renewal of the Group 3 Jersey Stakes. Purchased as a yearling like INDIAN INK and AUTHORIZED from Book 1 of the 2005 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, the son of Cheveley Park stallion KYLLACHY was knocked down to Tony Nerses for 65,000 guineas having been consigned from Penmarric Stud. Bred by David Botterill at his Hall Farm Stud TARIQ was originally purchased for 32,000 guineas at the 2004 Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

As ever Tattersalls graduates were well to the fore in the Royal Ascot two year old races with the 19,000 guineas October yearling NIJOOM DUBAI landing the Group 3 Albany Stakes for trainer Mick Channon and owner Jaber Abdullah and the Bryan Smart trained colt MAZE maintaining his unbeaten record in the Listed Chesham Stakes having been purchased at last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 28,000 guineas by Oliver St Lawrence of McKeever St Lawrence. MAZE was consigned at last year's October Yearling Sale by Jamie Railton on behalf of breeders Millsec Ltd who also bred the Jamie Osborne trained Queen Alexandra winner ENJOY THE MOMENT, himself a 26,000 guineas October Yearling purchased by Amanda Skiffington.

NIJOOM DUBAI was one of two Tattersalls October winners on the Friday of Royal Ascot for agent Gill Richardson who also purchased Channon's winner of the Listed Wolferton Handicap CHAMPIONSHIP POINT. The son of LOMITAS was bought on behalf of owner John Livock for 85,000 guineas from Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where he was consigned from Mount Coote Stud.

Further Royal Ascot Group race success for Book 1 of the 2005 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale came from the Aidan O'Brien trained three year old MAHLER who looked a smart stayer in the making when winning the Group 3 Queen's Vase by 3 ½ lengths. The son of GALILEO was purchased by Demi O'Byrne on behalf of owners Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith for 140,000 guineas having been consigned from Chris Budgett's Kirtlington Stud on behalf of his breeder's Pegasus Racing Ltd.

Completing the line up of Tattersalls October winners at Royal Ascot 2007 were the John Gosden trained ROYAL OATH, an impressive winner of the Royal Hunt Cup for owners W. S. Farish and William S. Farish jnr, having been consigned at the 2004 sale from Watership Down Stud, the Michael Bell trained Britannia Stakes winner EDDIE JOCK, a 26,000 guineas Kern/Lillingston October purchase from consignors Corduff Stud and Geoff Wragg's King George V Stakes winner HERON BAY who was purchased for 70,000 guineas by agent Borje Olsson. HERON BAY was bred and sold at the 2005 October 1 by Nicholas Forman Hardy's Car Colston Hall Stud.

The twelfth Tattersalls winner of the meeting was the John Quinn trained PEVENSEY who won the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes. The son of DANEHILL was purchased at the 2004 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale for 42,000 guineas by Mark Buckley.

Book 1 of the 2007 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale takes place October 9th - 12th and features the only qualifiers for the £2,200,000 Tattersalls Millions - the world's most valuable sales race series.
