Love Wins 1,000 Guineas for Record Breaking Trainer

Another Guineas weekend and another Guineas winner for Aiden O’Brien. This is following the victory of Love in the 1000 Guineas, meaning a fourth victory in the last five years for the record breaking trainer. It also meant a sixth 1,000 Guineas for the trainer, who also nearly landed the 2000 Guineas, running a neck second with Wichita, who had also beaten the odds on favourite Pinatubo, who finished in third.

The favourite on the day was Quadrilateral, who is a daughter of Frankel but she could only finish in third, having travelled very keen for much of the race. Cloak of Spirits finished in second but it was all about Love, who ran out a ready winner by four and a quarter lengths. Love is also now a short priced favourite to follow up in the Oaks and is likely to take all the beating. She is already being well supported, with punters using offers such as the online slot reviews in order to help boost their selections.

This was a much improved performance, from a horse who finished last season running third behind the favourite Quadrilateral. Love had won three of her previous seven starts in her two year old campaign, that included an impressive victory in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud stakes at the Curragh.

The Guineas victory was a much improved performance and the horse has clearly improved and matured well, following the 240 day break. She appears to be another star for the stable and is going to take all the beating moving forward. The favourite Quadrilateral is certainly another one to take from the race, despite only finishing in third. She was very keen throughout the contest but still battled on well and could perform much better if settling in future races.

Ryan Moore was the jockey on the winner and following the race said: "She's a very uncomplicated filly and we've always thought a lot of her. She was in control of the race from a long way out." This gives another example of how good the stable believe she is, so she is an extremely exciting prospect.

The other Guineas on the weekend was won by Kameko, who ran out an impressive winner of the 2,000 Guineas, battling on well to hold off the challenge of Wichita and Pinatubo.
