Richard Fahey's Lacing won the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Fillies’ Median Auction Stakes on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile today, first race of the 2014/15 £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series.
The daughter of Equiano was bought by Cheveley Park Stud from Newsells Park Stud at the 2013 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1.
After the race Chris Richardson, Managing Director at Cheveley Park Stud, commented, “We are very pleased and she is also from one of our families. I knew she would like the rain so we weren’t worried when it came. We started her off relatively early and Ryan Moore said she’s a nice filly who gives you a nice feel but she is still very weak and you should be patient with her so we have been. Richard [Fahey] has always liked her. Paul [Hanagan] said the further she went the better she went so she might come back here in October but from our prospective we would also like her to get some Black Type but we will see what Richard says.”
Hundi was second for Charlie Hills, with Supreme Occasion for David O’Meara in third.
