Andre Fabre is weighing up whether to roll the dice and supplement the talented My Highness for this Group 1 event.
⭕ #Deauville – @sumbe_fr Prix du Calvados (Gr II)

The Godolphin-owned daughter of Ghaiyyath announced herself in style at Deauville last month, sweeping past Hugo Palmer’s Fitzella to claim the Prix du Calvados and, in the process, become her sire’s first Group Two winner.
That success made it three wins from four starts, her only blemish a debut defeat by the barest margin to Christopher Head’s unbeaten Green Spirit.
Tradition would usually see Fabre steer his 1000 Guineas types towards the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc weekend. But this year the lure of Newmarket – with its straight mile and the promise of sounder terrain – has the master trainer considering a different route, and with it the chance to become the first to strike in the race with a French-trained filly.
“I haven’t decided if she runs in the Boussac yet, there’s no firm decision,” Fabre told the PA news agency.
“We’re looking at the Fillies’ Mile, she would need to be supplemented, but I like the idea of Newmarket because it’s a good race and the ground would likely be better than in Longchamp.
“I will make a late decision, I have until next Saturday.
“The main thinking is that she is proven on a straight course, she will enjoy good ground and the ground will be better in Newmarket than anywhere else – and she is exciting.
“Whether she is good enough to win, I don’t know, that’s the question mark. But My Highness won nicely last time and deserves to run in a Group One.”
So the wait goes on – Boussac or Newmarket – but whichever path Fabre takes, My Highness has already shown herself a filly with a future.
