Aidan O'Brien's Clemmie was a shade disappointing in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, but bounced back to win a Group Three at the Curragh on July 2.

Stepped up to Group Two level, she was the 11-8 favourite under Ryan Moore and travelled well in behind main market rival Nyaleti for much of the six-furlong contest.

Moore asked his mount to take closer order racing inside the final two furlongs and Clemmie quickened up smartly to hit the front and she galloped all the way to the line to score decisively by a length and three-quarters.

Nyaleti, runner-up in the Chesham Stakes at the Royal meeting, boxed on for second ahead of Mamba Noire in third.

Moore said: "She's just progressed with every run, which is typical of one of Aidan's two-year-olds. She's just got better and better.

"She was good in the Group Three the last day and was better today. I thought she did that very easily."

Sky Bet cut Clemmie to 8-1 for next year's 1000 Guineas, with her stablemate September the 5-1 favourite.

Moore added: "I'd say she (Clemmie) is the best (two-year-old) filly we've seen out this year. She's won a six-furlong Group Two in July, she's got the pedigree to do it and she's got the trainer.

"She's got every chance."

Part-owner Michael Tabor said: "You have to be impressed. Obviously she's improving all the time and she wants six furlongs, but more would suit her.

"We were all hopeful she'd go to the top on her breeding. As we know, she's a full-sister to Churchill

"We can't ask for better than that and she's one to look forward to. She's won as if she wants seven furlongs and hopefully she'll be a Guineas horse for next year."

He added: "She's already had three races and I really don't know what Aidan wants to do. He trains the horse and no decision has been made on where she'll go, but he'll probably have another race in mind, I suppose.

"Obviously we'll gradually step her up, I think she'll handle a Group One all right and it could be the Moyglare (Curragh, September 10).

"September is obviously very good as well and these are high-class problems, to have two fillies like that."
