Gospel Choir was impressive in winning the Group Two Qatar Bloodstock Jockey Club Stakes over a mile and a half on QIPCO 2000 Guineas Day.
Ryan Moore, completing a quick double after the sprint success of Sole Power, set sail for home over a furlong out on Sir Michael Stoute's progressive five-year-old (6-1) to score in tremendous style in the colours of the Cheveley Park Stud.
Pether's Moon looked dangerous, but by the time he got going the winner had flown, while the 4-6 favourite Trading Leather was something of a disappointment in his first run for Godolphin, picking up the pieces to claim third close home after pulling hard in the early stages.
Moore said: "The race went very well, very smoothly."
Stoute said: "I knew he was spot-on, but I didn't think he'd beat Trading Leather. He's really progressing, this fellow. I think he's reached a pretty good standard, but here's hoping he can find a bit more improvement.
"We'll stop and think, but he's in the Hardwicke Stakes (at Royal Ascot) and he's in the Eclipse Stakes (at Sandown)."
Trading Leather's trainer Jim Bolger said: "We lacked a bit of pace in the race. It wasn't that he was free, but he has a fabulous stride, which he likes to use, and he wasn't able to.
"He was rusty and I'd say he'll go for the Tattersalls Gold Cup (Curragh, May 25) and then hopefully the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot."
