Love Remains Betting Favourite to Land 2020 Edition of Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe

The 2020 edition of the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is shaping up to be a race of so much class, with the likes of Love, Enable, Ghaiyyath and Stradivarius all set to take their chances. The betting has Love as the general 15/8 favourite, which is little surprise, considering just how impressive she has been this campaign. She is of course just a three-year-old, so will also be getting weight from virtually all her opposition. Love is trained by Aiden O’Brien and entered her three-year-old campaign with high expectations, following a promising two-year-old season. That included her winning three of her seven starts, such as a victory in the Moyglare stud stakes. The betting on the event is already proving a popular one, in one of the most intriguing markets. This also continued the rise of horse racing betting markets, as they look to rival the surge of popularity in the casino markets. Much of this comes down to bonus offers, such as the Hard Rock bonus code, so it will be interesting to see whether these continue to be implemented in the horse racing markets, in order to gather more interest behind this.

Following a 240-day break, she returned as the second favourite to land the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. She proved she had improved no end, by running out an impressive winner by just over four lengths, as she cleared away in the final furlong. Love then followed up by landing the Investec Oaks by an incredible nine lengths. This again stamped her down as a class above the rest and saw her being supported for the Arc in the betting markets. The following month she was then sent off as the overwhelming favourite to win the Darley Yorkshire Oaks and duly obliged by running out the winner by five lengths. This performance stamped her out as the horse to beat in the Arc, despite the opposition, as she further shortened into the favourite for the race.

But it is not just about Love in the Arc, as she has a number of very impressive older horses to take on. This includes the likes of the previously mentioned Enable and Ghaiyyath. Enable is the general second favourite at 11/4, in what will be her final start. She has had a stunning career, that includes winning this race twice and running second last year. Enable enters having won her last two starts impressively, so should be a major challenger to the favourite.

Ghaiyyath has also returned in formidable form this season and has now won his last four starts, following his disappointing run in the 2019 edition of the Arc. This includes him winning the Juddmonte by three lengths and posting an RPR of 131. This making him the top-rated horse in training at present. His previous start he also beat the previously mentioned Enable, so if bringing similar form, then could take all the beating.

It now sets up for a fascinating race, so let’s hope all horses get there in top shape and it will then be set for a memorable race.
