Inothewayurthinkin, trained by Gavin Cromwell, is expected to benefit from the step up in trip to three miles. Cromwell has warned, however, that the ground needs to be soft enough for him to run. Inothewayurthinkin was an easy winner at the Cheltenham Festival in March and handled a rise to Grade One company at Aintree.

Cromwell mentioned that Inothewayurthinkin's performance in the John Durkan over two and a half miles was below expectations, finishing well behind Fact To File. The horse is set to meet Fact To File again over Christmas.
The ground conditions are a concern, with the clerk of the course describing the chase course as good to yielding, yielding in places. Cromwell emphasized that Inothewayurthinkin would need softer ground to perform well.
Gordon Elliott has added further excitement to the race by confirming that Gerri Colombe will be running. Gerri Colombe, the Gold Cup runner-up, had a tame reappearance in the Champion Chase at Down Royal but has shown positive signs at home.
The race will feature a rematch between Galopin Des Champs and Fact To File, two top-class horses who have previously faced off.
