Sizing Europe wins his 4th PWC Champion Chase in a row at Gowran Park

On a great afternoon of racing, the loudest cheer definitely reserved for Sizing Europe at Gowran Park as he gets up late under Johnny Burke.

Galway Plate scorer Road To Riches looked to have the beating of his 12-year-old rival when he set sail for home fully six fences out, but Henry de Bromhead's stable stalwart steadily closed the gap in the hands of teenager Burke, who was riding him for the first time.

Just behind at the final fence, Burke asked Sizing Europe (9-4) for a big leap and his mount responded to land running and cut down the evens favourite close to the line, scoring by a head.

Sizing Europe could head to Clonmel next month his trainer gave the star veteran a clean bill of health on Sunday morning.

He now has the Grade Two Clonmel Oil Chase, a race he won two years ago, as a possible next port of call on November 13.

De Bromhead said: "He seems fine after the race, no problems.

"It was a good performance and a great first run back - he showed a lot of heart.

"We'll see how everything unfolds in the next fortnight, but that (Clonmel Oil Chase) is a possibility."
