Outsider Libranno Takes Park Stakes

Trainer Richard Hannon went into the Group Two OLBG Park stakes double-handed but it was the less fancied of his two runners, 16/1 shot Libranno, that came up with the spoils, winning by half-a-length.

Richard Hannon Jnr, representing his father, said afterwards: “ He did it well, he’s a very good horse when he is on song. His form goes up and down but when he is on form he is a very hard horse to beat.

“I am a bit disappointed with Strong Suit (sent of as the 6/4 favourite and finished fourth), he was on and off the bridle and didn’t get much luck in running I thought this was a race he could win but take nothing away from the winner, he did it very well.”

Asked as to future plans for the winner and Strong Suit, Hannon said: I don’t know about either, we will sleep on it and speak to the owners.

“Strong Suit is going to be stallion at some point so I will have to talk to David (Redvers, racing manager for Quater Racing) who is in America at the moment about him. We will talk to Libranno’s owners as to future plans later.”
