Godolphin strengthened their powerful hand in the juvenile fillies' department when Lyric Of Light dented the reputation of Fallen For You in the Barrett Steel May Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

With Discourse and Gamilati already Pattern winners this year, Mahmood Al Zarooni will have a good idea of the pecking order, and the fact he relied on the Newmarket maiden winner in a race like this was a telling pointer.

Kieren Fallon kicked for home early on Semayyel, but Frankie Dettori always looked pretty confident and although Fallen For You gave the winner a fight as the two came together close home, the 9-1 chance was always holding the jolly and won by a neck.

Albany winner Samitar gives the form plenty of strength as she was over three lengths away in third.

Dettori said: "Mahmood has always liked her but this was a big jump up from a maiden. She was still green and when she hit the front she pricked her ears."

Al Zarooni added: "We've been lucky with Street Cry fillies and Frankie says she is nice but green. We'll probably take her to France for the Group One over there now (Prix Marcel Boussac)."

John Gosden was happy with the runner-up, saying: "I'm thrilled. She's a lovely filly and had only won a maiden. I think we'll go for the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket now. I don't train juveniles to reach their potential at two."

Lyric Of Light was inserted into the 1000 Guineas betting at 16-1 by Paddy Power.
