Jonbon extended his impressive record to 15 wins from 18 starts with a consecutive victory. Nico de Boinville's mount jumped solidly, leading all the way to secure a length and a half win over Boothill. Edwardstone posed a threat turning into the home straight but ultimately finished third.

Owned by JP McManus, Jonbon remains the 3-1 favourite for the Champion Chase with Betfair Sportsbook and Paddy Power. While Jonbon’s three defeats have all come at Cheltenham, this marked his second success at the track.

Reflecting on the race, De Boinville said, "I was delighted with that. We didn't set any mad fractions, but he was very brave at the last and was pulling away at the line. You have to be positive with him but it's a fine line. He's a fantastic horse."

Next on Jonbon's agenda is the Betfair Tingle Creek at Sandown on December 7, another top two-mile chase he won last season. Trainer Nicky Henderson commented, "His jumping was as good as I’ve ever seen and he really enjoyed himself. It looked like he had a good blow between the last two and this fits in nicely before the Tingle Creek. It was job done and a lovely race for him. While he can stay two and a half miles, he’s a two-miler, and we haven’t made any other entries for him. I’d imagine the Clarence House after the Tingle Creek, and I’d be surprised if we varied his campaign."
