Victtorino extended the remarkable streak of victories for both Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch, seizing victory over three miles.
A heated duel unfolded between Flash Collonges and Git Maker at the forefront, their battle raging for an extended period. However, their ambitious pace exacted a toll, and they conceded defeat before reaching the crucial home turn.
Approaching the second-last obstacle, a quartet formed a tightly-knit group, navigating the challenges of the course. Meanwhile, Charlie Deutsch, demonstrating patience and strategic finesse astride Victtorino, remained poised behind. Remarkably, the five-year-old contender carried the burden of 12st in this fiercely competitive race.
With two impeccable leaps, the 4-1 shot seized control, showcasing mastery over the course. Deutsch and Victtorino, always holding the upper hand, repelled the belated surge from Yeah Man, securing victory by a margin of three-quarters of a length. In the skilled hands of Deutsch, Victtorino emerged triumphant, a testament to their harmonious partnership in the challenging contest.
“He’s remarkably grown up for a five-year-old and is really exciting,” said Williams.
“It looked like it wasn’t going to go for us today, there was a strong pace and he wanted to go on the outside, but Blackjack Magic was holding that position and he couldn’t really get by into the position he wanted.
“From Swinley Bottom up, it was pedal to the metal and he met a few of those on an awkward stride, which made things difficult for him, but he dealt with it.
“To see him then go on to the line, and obviously he was being caught, but Charlie felt when the other horse got to his quarters, he felt him pick up a little bit.”
