Blue Mist (Roger Charlton/Ryan Moore) justified 9/2 favouritism in the 19-runner heritage handicap.
The five-year-old son of Makfi, homebred by owner Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms, had not entered the winner's enclosure since scoring at Ascot in October, 2018 but had run well several times since then, most notably when third in this race 12 months' ago.
Blue Mist made smooth headway under Ryan Moore to take up the running entering the final furlong and won by a comfortable length and a quarter.
Harry Charlton, assistant trainer to his father Roger, said: "We are delighted with that. He has been knocking on the door and is not the easiest to get his head in front, but, under his conditions, he is pretty talented.
"I typically said on TV that I was worried about the quick ground, but sometimes we think about the quick ground for their bodies, when actually sometimes they handle it and enjoy it, it's just you are looking after them.
"He travelled very well, he is pretty quick horse, he finished sixth in the Silver Wokingham, but Ryan said seven furlongs is his trip.
"He will creep up to 100, but he can still run in these sorts of races.
"His main role is really as Quadrilateral's lead horse. He deserves this one, he is a sweet horse and a yard favourite."
