Time to smash our way into profit at Goodwood

Our two each way selections at 7-1 and 8-1 both finished in the frame yesterday, meaning that we are showing just half a point profit for the week.

I don't think we should be content with that though and accordingly I am looking to make an assault on Goodwood this afternoon in an attempt to drive us into decent profit.

Muthmir

My main selection is an obvious one in the shape of Muthmir in the 32Red.com Handicap.

He was wildly impressive at York in the Sky Bet Dash and a repetition of that smooth-traveling demolition of a decent field will see him back in the winners’ enclosure.

The only slight concern is that he is drawn on the far side and there is more pace on the stands’ side, but we should not get too bound up in draw and pace analysis because this horse is a Group horse masquerading as a handicapper and is the fastest horse in the race.

Be safe and back him each-way.

My next best is Oasis Fantasy in the Jaguar Stakes at 2.40pm.

She hails from the now in-form Ed Dunlop yard and boasts some useful form.

For a start she won here two starts ago and then next time was only beaten by a useful sort of Roger Varian’s with the prolific winner Maid in Rio back in third.

That is solid and strong form. She stays well and with Richard Hughes on board she rates as a decent each way bet at around 8-1.

I’m going for a twin-pronged attack in the 32RedSport.com Handicap with Barnet Fair and Tatlisu.

I put Barnet Fair up here on the blog earlier in the week but he was a non-runner.

He looks certain to run well today.

His run at Ascot last time behind Racy was a decent effort and he seems to be coming to the boil at the right time.

He is a hold-up horse who needs plenty of pace to go at and for sure he will get it this afternoon.

At 12-1 he should be backed each-way.

I am also going to back Tatlisu in the race. Two starts ago he beat Muthmir and was only just denied by Blaine last time up at Hamilton. Ryan Moore on board is an obvious plus and he looks certain to run well. He too should be backed each-way.

Time to smash our way into the realms of a decent profit for the week. Bring it on!
