Dream Result for Turner and Simcock in Chicago
    31/08/12

Hayley Turner, who twice last season tasted Group 1 success in Britain, enhanced her growing reputation among punters from within the Bet Victor horse racing community when giving Newmarket handler David Simcock’s I’m A Dreamer a peach of a ride to win the coveted Grade 1 Beverley D Stakes at Arlington Park in Chicago on Saturday night.

    I’m A Dreamer

Simcock once again placed his faith in the jockey who partnered his Dream Ahead to a memorable victory in last season’s July Cup at Newmarket, and the Southwell-born leading lady rider didn’t let him down as she stole a march on her rivals turning into the final straight and had just enough left in the locker to hang on in a tight finish as locally trained Marketing Mix came screaming home with a spirited late challenge, only to fail by just a head to peg back the British raider.

I’m A Dreamer was certainly not winning out of turn in North America having gone agonisingly close to bagging a first Grade 1 success when beaten just a head by Miss Kellerin last October’s renewal of the E P Taylor Stakes at Woodbine in Canada. Clearly ideally suited by the tight American tracks and having little problem coping with the trans-Atlantic journey, Bet Victor horse racing news sources say the 6.3/1 shot was realising a dream for her trainer who has long hankered after a big race win in the US.

In her three starts on home turf earlier this campaign the five-year-old daughter of Noverrehad shown that she still retains all her ability, following a decent third to the smart Izzi Top in the Group 2 Middleton Stakes at York in May by finishing a four-length third to Carlton House in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown a few weeks later, then being beaten less than two lengths by old rival Izzi Top in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh in early-July.
