Huntingdon Racecourse has for the second time in three years won the 'Racegoers Club' award for the best racecourse in the region.

Voted by the Racegoers Club Huntingdon Racecourse has won the ‘Best Small Racecourse in the South Midlands and East Anglian Region’ award for 2004. Delighted Racecourse Manager – Tina Dawson said: "It is just reward for all the hard work and perseverance shown by the staff, however, we will not rest on our laurels and will endeavour to continue to strive for improvement."

Huntingdon stages its Christmas Meeting on the 27th Dec - Christmas Bank Holiday Monday. The first of six races is due off at 12.40pm and the last at 3.25pm with the feature race, the ‘End of Year Novice Chase’ off at 2.20pm.

The Racecourse is continuing its policy of catering for all the family. In addition to the entertainment available for the children, the adults will be treated to a competitive six race card as well as additional food and drink outlets available around the course, with choices ranging from a hot toddy and jacket potatoes to champagne and seafood.

Friday 14th January will be the first race meeting for 2005, hopefully bringing a spark of excitement to the New Year. The racecourse is set to stage seventeen fixtures in 2005 and Tina explained their plans; "We have decided to bring back the ever popular Ladies Evening on May 26th, stage the ‘Countryside Evening on 10th May in the hope that this may appeal more to the local community. The ‘Cheltenham Double Header’ meeting in March, the ‘Mascot Day’ in September and ‘Peterborough Chase Day’ in November remain the same and I believe our 2005 fixture list offers a good balance and should appeal to all".

Monday 27th December (Bank Holiday Monday): Gates open at 10.40am, the first race commences at 12.40pm and the last of six races is at 3.25pm.

Friday 14th January: Gates open at 11am, the first race commences at 1pm and the last of seven races is at 4pm.
