The Colin Tizzard-trained four-year-old, who won last season’s Champion Bumper, travelled sweetly throughout the Fund Bestway Novices´ Hurdle and eventually went on to win the race by an easy thirteen lengths.

Staying at Aintree, Franklino has been pushed out to 25-1 (from 14-1 Fav’) for the Triumph Hurdle after he disappointed in the Halloween At Matalan Introductory Juvenile Hurdle.

‘Cue Card’s winning debut at Aintree has set down a marker for this season’s novice hurdlers,’ said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, ‘It wasn’t the strongest contest we’ll see this season, but it was an eye catching performance none the less.’
