Aintree Announce On-Sale Dates for 2009 John Smith's Grand National Meeting 07/07/08

Aintree Racecourse today announced that tickets and hospitality packages for the 2009 John Smith’s Grand National meeting, which will takes place from 2nd – 4th April, will shortly go on sale, with some packages being available to purchase from Monday 4th August.

Since the 2008 festival in April, the racecourse has been working on an initiative to improve customer service and to ensure that buying tickets, badges and hospitality for the 2009 event will be quicker and easier for customers. To achieve this, tickets will go on sale in two phases.

Customers will notice a new 24-hour ticket line, which should improve ease of booking. This new dedicated line, 0844 579 3001 will open on Monday 4th August from 8am.

From Monday 4th August 2008 at 8am all hospitality packages will be available to purchase in person from Aintree Racecourse Booking Office or by calling 0151 522 2911 during sales office hours (Monday to Friday). Also from this time, Season Tickets only will be available to purchase by calling Aintree’s new 24-hour ticket line on 0844 579 3001. Season Tickets provide great value and as well as allowing racegoers a priority chance to secure grandstand tickets for all three-days of the Grand National meeting, they provide access to 6 additional racedays in 2009, giving a cost saving of over £70 off the year’s admission prices. Both of these options will only be available on the options listed and unfortunately not online.

From Monday 18th August, all other tickets and grandstand badges for the 2009 event will be available to purchase from 8am. For the first time, all tickets and badges will be available to purchase online at aintree.co.uk or by calling the new 24-hour ticket line on 0844 579 3001. Postal booking forms will also be accepted.

For customers wishing to purchase in person from the racecourse, tickets and badges will be available to purchase from Aintree Racecourses booking office from Monday 1st September, 9am. Racegoers wishing to purchase in person should visit the racecourse during sales office hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Customers on Aintree’s database will shortly receive a postcard reminder detailing the important on-sale dates and telephone numbers. The 2009 brochure will automatically be sent to customers on Aintree’s database, as well as being available to view online at aintree.co.uk from Monday 14th July.

Commenting ahead of going on-sale, Aintree Managing Director, Julian Thick commented, ‘Each year we are constantly reminded of the demand for tickets and hospitality packages for the Grand National meeting and we therefore advise racegoers to take advantage of the new booking system we have in place this year, including the convenience of online booking. We know that many racegoers are always eager to secure their tickets as soon as we go on-sale and by staggering on-sale dates, we have made it much easier for people to obtain their desired ticket choice.’
