Gloucestershire trainer Tom George was celebrating following God's Own's 25/1 success in the two-mile Grade 1 Ryanair Novice Chase.
"The week hadn't quite gone our way before this but this horse has always been very talented," said George. "He finished a length behind Balder Succes at Kempton but he's a better horse in the spring. We purposefully waited until the end of the season in Britain to run him so that he remains a novice for the new season.
"The horse has taken a bit of handling and he's a stayer who will get further in time."
Winning rider Barry Geraghty added: "He looked to have a bit to do on paper but jumped great. I had a chat with Paddy Brennan earlier in the week and he said the horse is a great leaper with plenty of guts. He showed that over the last two fences today.
"Tom was hopeful for him today and said he is a lot better going right-handed. That proved the case and his jumps at the last two won it for him.
"We flew today but I was always travelling well close enough to the pace. He was a little bit slow three out but he pinged the last two."
